Organisation
Members of the OpenGATE Collaboration are bound by a gentleman's agreement.
In this agreement, all partners agree to work together to the common development and validation of the GATE software.
They accept to provide free access under potential confidentiality clauses agreed on with a company to the source codes they develop within the collaboration, and will not distribute these source codes to anyone outside of the collaboration until it is publicly released.
Furthermore, each OpenGATE member provides an on-going contribution to the development and validation of GATE as approved by the steering committee of the colllaboration. Examples of contributions are writing new classes for GATE, writing documentations, stystematic validation of new releases, helping in organizing training sessions, aso.
Each OpenGATE member also agrees upon a common review process of any publication. Any GATE-related manuscript intended to be submitted to a journal by a collaboration member has first to be circulated through the collaboration steering committee mailing list for approval. Any GATE-related abstract submitted to a conference has to be circulated through the collaboration steering committee mailing list no later than 1 week after submission, so it can still be withdrawn in case of lack of compliance with the collaboration rules.
Every member should identify one technical contact person the technical coordinator of the OpenGATE collaboration can address specific requests to. An elected technical coordinator organizes technical meetings, and attends the meetings of the Steering Committee. The technical coordinator is in charge of the source code repository and helps the new members of the collaboration to install the simulation toolkit on their platforms. A development mailing list is available to facilitate problem solving and to answer routine questions about GATE. This mailing list provides genuine user support between all the partners within the collaboration.
Every member institute must also be represented by one representative in the Steering Committee of the collaboration at least once a year. This Steering Committee decides the operational development strategy of the simulation framework. The elected spokesman of the collaboration chairs this Steering Committee.
The elected spokesperson and the elected technical coordinator will be confirmed in their functions or elected every other year, as well at the working group leaders.
Here is the current list of members of the collaboration.

The OpenGATE collaboration is opened to new memberships. If you wish to join the collaboration, please contact Irene Buvat, IMNC UMR 8165 CNRS - Paris 7 - Paris 11, Orsay, France.
